Following World War II, relentless War Crimes investigator Mr. Wilson tracks down elusive Nazi mastermind Franz Kindler, who has completely erased his past. Assuming the identity of "Charles Rankin," Kindler lives as a respected schoolteacher in a quaint Connecticut town, newly married to a judge's trusting daughter (Loretta Young).
